Hints, Tips and Tricks for Delilah by Jen Kingwell

Dear Friends,

This week we spent an afternoon picking out fabrics for the next two blocks of “Delilah”.  We are so excited for the reveal of the blocks on May 1.

There were a lot of giggles as we were choosing fabrics.   You would think with all the fabric choices in ‘our stash’ we would have exactly what we needed!  But, Deb placed numerous bolts of fabric on order for future blocks.   We are trying to make sure that we ‘Moose It Up’ the Jen Kingwell way.

We are discovering that Jen has a method to her madness of color choices.   As you study the blocks and the fabric choices in each block; the colors and textures in the fabrics ‘work’ together from one portion of the block into the other parts of the block.   At first glance, you may think that the fabrics are random choices; but, they are not.   There is a flow of color throughout the block that creates the ‘calmness’ you feel with her quilts.   As well as fun, “Delilah” will be a study of color, too!

If you are enjoying “Delilah” you may want to check out the “Long Time Gone” by Jen Kingwell sewalong.  Here is the link to all the information for the sewalong that started in March. http://www.gnomeangel.com/jen-kingwells-long-time-gone-sew-along/    We are admiring the blocks that our very own Karyl has been making for her “Long Time Gone” quilt. (See below) We can hardly wait for the end result!    We have the pattern booklet for “Long Time Gone” available if you need a copy.   Give us a call at 402.332.4178.

‘Til next week, make each day a pieceful day.

Carolyn
