Today was the first day of market, which of course means school house. While school house isn’t technically part of market, it’s like the music that starts before the football team takes the field. Everybody gets ramped up and ready to go. School house is set up as a bunch of half hour or less sessions all day long. You pick which sessions you want to go to, then learn new techniques, new books that are coming out, or how to use a new tool.
So here are some highlights from today…
This is the perpetual motion sculpture in the convention center. It’s huge. And mesmerizing.
Betsy Chutchian is coming out with a new book! It’s a new book with lovely reproduction quilts.
Jo Morton has not only a new couple of lines coming out, but she’s venturing into the world of batiks. This strippy quilt uses some Rachel’s Reels blocks and flying geese and mixes her new lines of prints and batiks.
Edyta has a new line of batiks and prints, as well as her ever-amazing array of patterns. More on that later…
And of course, how could we miss putting this fantastic picture of Barb and Mary of Me and My Sister Designs up?? Especially when there’s tiaras involved!
So tomorrow, Market officially opens and we’ll start collecting more goodies and pictures to share! Stay tuned.
