Quilt and fabric designer, Michelle Yeo has agreed to return to the Quilted Moose to conduct two workshops at Minglewood this May! Many of you have met and participated in Michelle’s classes in the past. She will, again, be teaching her machine foundation piecing technique. Michelle shows you how to prepare your foundation pieces and stitch your fabrics together to avoid the necessity of ripping out the foundation papers from your stitching at the end. Saving you time (and a mess!) from other paper piecing methods.
She will be teaching May 23 and 24 (Tuesday and Wednesday) from 9:30am to 4pm. During those two days she will teach her ‘Ballaarat Beauties’ individual pattern and/or ‘Richmond Hill’ from her book “Of Needle, Thimble and Thread” published by Quiltmania. Both of these quilt patterns use her foundation machine piecing technique. Since both of these patterns use the same method you will have the unique opportunity to work on one or both quilts; one or two days. It is your choice. You can sign up for one day and work on one quilt. Sign up for two days and work on one quilt. Sign up for two days and work on two quilts.
I have some ideas as to how we can help you ‘Moose It Up’ with the ‘Ballaarat Beauties’ pattern. I need to finalize some details for the ‘reveal’ during her classes.
Please give us a call to reserve your spot for one or both days. The cost for lunch is covered in the daily workshop fee. If you are traveling and would like to stay at Minglewood Monday and/or Tuesday nights please let us know so that we can reserve a bed for you, too. Also, let us know if you need the “Ballaarat Beauties’ pattern and/or “Of Needle, Thimble, and Thread” book. The pattern and book are not included in the class fee. The workshop fee is $99.00 per day and an overnight at Minglewood Lodge is $35.00 per night.
