MODA Sampler Block Shuffle Extended Edition

Hi Moose Friends,

If you follow us on Instagram, you have seen setting fabric auditions happening for both Linda and Karyl’s final Moda Sampler Shuffle blocks.   They are trying to determine if they will need some additional blocks to complete their layouts.

I have been working on setting ideas and fabric choices for stitching together my MODA Sampler Block Shuffle quilt.   A store full of fabric and I can’t pick what I want to use!  But, I did decide to make a couple of additional blocks, #31 a pieced basket block and #32 an applique using the leaves from the #30 flower block.

Blocks 31 & 32

Block #31 – Flower Basket

Background:

1 – 3-7/8″ square, cut once diagonally (you will only use one triangle)

2 – 2″ x 3-1/2″ rectangles

4 – 2-3/8″ squares, cut once diagonally

Dark:

1 – 3-7/8″ square, cut once diagonally (you will only use one triangle)

Leaves and Stems:

Follow picture for placement and use your favorite appliqué method.

As I read emails and check on my favorite blogs there are so many new free projects ‘out there’ (on the web) starting for the new year.   One of my favorite blog sites for ideas, inspiration and a giggle or two is the MODA Cutting Table blog.  There are a couple of new events that you may want to check out.  First, the All-In-A-Row blog hop from the Moda All-Stars “All in a Row” book from That Patchwork Place and then the ABC Quilt-along from the Moda “Spell it with Fabric!” booklet.   You can find all the information for these two events at:  http://blog.modafabrics.com

We are also in the planning stages for several Moose events for 2016.   Watch our blog for more information in the coming weeks.

Along with reading our blog, I really hope you follow @quiltedmoose on Instagram. We post our breaking news there first and it’s also a great way of seeing the daily happenings at the Moose.   Stop by with your “Show and Tell’.   Who knows….your project may be posted for all of our followers to see.  If you need help setting up an account on Instagram stop by and we can get you started.

Negative temperatures and snow overnight are predicted here in Nebraska, so you know where I will be hibernating tomorrow.

Happy stitching,

Debbie
