Hello Moose Friends,
I am having a great time seeing the variations of the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle blocks from our customers and my staff. I love it when I see the “Moose It Up!” blocks. This is a wonderful opportunity to ‘think outside the block’. One of my staff describes herself as a ‘blender’. She has decided to see how many additional fabrics and colors she can use in each block. I am coaching her on how to expand her choices.
Only one more week until Jill’s wedding. The wedding decorations are nearly finished. I spent Thursday evening at a ladies night event at Mulhall’s, a wonderful Omaha nursery, gathering more items for the tree and the tables. We are fortunate to have the hall available to us for decorating in advance and our plans are coming together.
I am so excited! The Moose has reached 3000 viewers on Instagram and we thank you all for that. I continue to post the latest photos of projects and updates for events on our account @quiltedmoose. Watch for some postings this week of the Moose staff versions of the Shuffle blocks.
The Sampler Shuffle blocks for this 4th week will revisit the techniques for assembling flying geese and fussy cutting. And don’t forget, Moda’s instructions are for connecting squares added to corners and the waste triangle trimmed and discarded. If you are using the no-waste flying geese method, in both blocks 11 and 12, your geese unit would be a 3-1/4″ square and your 4 air units are 1-7/8″ squares.
Let’s keep shuffling and have a great weekend!
