Have you heard of the QCR? It’s a ruler. It’s the brain child of three sisters that design, piece quilts and do beautiful longarm quilting. Most of us at the Quilted Moose follow their Instagram accounts: @sewkindofwonderfuljenny, @sewkindofwonderfulhelen and @sewkindofwonderfulsherilyn. You can also find pictures of their artistry on Instagram using the hashtag: #sewkindofwonderful.
QCR stands for Quick Curve Ruler. The ruler comes in two sizes: mini and regular. If you frequent the Moose you may have seen a few of their designs on display. Karla made this “Mini Pumpkins” wall hanging last fall for our Mooseketeers event. (Give us a call if you are interested in a kit of fabrics and the QCR Mini used for this pattern.)
Carolyn made this beautiful red and white pillow of curved trees using the QCR Mini.
We are fascinated with the Sew Kind of Wonderful curved designs and have had some questions on how to use the QCR rulers from customers. So, we decided to set up some times at the Moose where we could demonstrate the ruler, have show and tell of new samples, and provide some tips discovered while using the Quick Curve Rulers.
The dates are:
February 4 Saturday 1:30p-? as long as needed
February 9 Thursday 1:30-? as long as needed
These sessions are free, just drop in to visit and learn a new technique.
See you soon.
